Irkutsk - Ust Orda Village

Day 1

  • Arrival in Irkutsk. Meeting with the guide
  • Transfer to hotel, check-in
  • 11:00 a.m. Baikal Tour.

On the way to Lake Baikal guests will visit the open-air museum of wooden architecture “Taltsy”, where one can see ancient wooden houses dating back to the XVIIth and XVIIIth centuries. Museum offers you an excellent chance to get acquainted with culture and traditions of peoples living in Siberia, see their original houses and clothes. After excursion one can stop by in a small and cozy café, called “Siberian Tearoom”, and have a cup of hot tea before the trip continues.

  • After “Taltsy” museum we’ll go straight to Lake Baikal! The main point of our today’s destination is Listvyanka Village – the biggest settlement located on the shores of Baikal and the main touristic center.
  • In Listvyanka clients will have a sightseeing tour with the visit to the fish- and souvenirs’ market, to Saint Nicola’s Church and to the museum of Baikal Flora and Fauna.
  • 13:00 p.m. -14:00 p.m. Lunch in the restaurant, located on the very shore of Baikal.

During lunch guests will be offered to try traditional dishes of traditional Russian and Siberian cuisine: well-know Russian soup – borsh, salads, dishes with vegetables, pancakes or pies with jam made of local berries and certainly, famous Baikal fish – omul. Omul is a type of salmon-fish, it can be found nowhere else but in Baikal. Omul meat knows no rivals according to its tenderness and taste.

  • Return to Irkutsk.
  • Dinner in one of the city’s restaurants (Russian or Chinese food – on your choice)
  • Night in the hotel
 
 

Day 2

  • Breakfast in the hotel
  • 07:20 a.m. Beginning of the day-trip round the Circum Baikal Loop.

Baikal Loop is one of oldest and most beautiful parts of the trans Siberian Railway. It’s righteously regarded “The Golden Buckle of Russian Railway”
At present the Circum Baikal Railway constitutes an integrated historical, architectural and engineering-landscape monument of federal significance.
Thanks to brilliant feat of labor and engineering accomplished by the builders, its structures harmoniously fit with Baikal’s harsh and vulnerable landscape.

  • Lunch in the train (lunch-boxes)
  • 22:30 p.m. Arrival back in Irkutsk. Late Dinner
  • Night in the hotel

 

   

Day 3

  • Breakfast in the hotel
  • Visit to Ust-Orda Settlement - the center of Buddhists’' and Shamanists' Culture in Eastern Siberia. In Ust-Orda in the museum of Local History the guests will be able to get acquainted with the culture of local Siberian people – Buryats, their folklore and main belief – Shamanism.
  • 14:00 p.m. Lunch in one of Irkutsk’s restaurants
  • After lunch – time for shopping in Irkutsk
  • 18:30 p.m. Dinner in one of the city’s restaurants
  • Night in the hotel

 

Day 4

  • Breakfast in the hotel
  • City tour
  • Lunch in one of the city’s restaurants, time for shopping in Irkutsk
  • Departure to the airport. End of the program
